Volunteer Guidelines

North Georgia Angel House is always looking for interns and volunteers. To be considered, you must be 21 years old and have a background free of criminal convictions. A local background check may be obtained by visiting your local precinct and asking for a copy. The fee is usually between $5.00 and $10.00 and the turnaround is typically 3 days. In addition to a clean background, our interns and volunteers must be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement and have an affidavit of good moral character.

The application process begins by calling the agency at 770-479-9555 and asking for the Program Coordinator or the Executive Director to schedule a time to meet. Next, complete the online application and submit the request for a background check. When the background is complete, simply come to the office to complete some important documents and sign up for the Volunteer Orientation.  

Volunteers may:

• Mentor
• Tutor
• Lend an ear
• Teach a topic
• Work hand in hand teaching valuable skills like sewing, scrapbooking, painting, gardening, or cooking
• Plant a garden
• Help make repairs around the home
